Reports to Head of MEP, Build up conceptual power system design and understands medium/High voltage power systems for Residential
Develops key documents (i.e. Key One Line Diagrams, One Line diagrams, cable list, Block Diagrams, etc.)
Coordinates reviews with other disciplines/contractors and departments, and performs constructability reviews
Initiates and optimizes cost effective system design and develops conceptual power system design
Prepares medium voltage power systems and performs electrical system calculations on complex power systems
Specifies and selects electrical equipment and material and applies industry and manufacturer’s testing procedures
Knowledge of National Electrical Code and Electrical Safety Orders of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health required in the design and layout of electrical systems
Knows how to prepare standard discipline deliverables, including standard work processes and tools
Understands engineering department procedures and their application on projects
Understands standard contract requirements and scope as they relate to electrical work
Knowledge of technical issues related to electrical design work and discussion with third parties (customer, Contractors, suppliers, and regulators)
Develops/compiles Engineering Deliverables Register and Document Control System for project
Monitors quality of output, including checking, approval of engineering deliverables, i.e. specifications, reports, drawings, MTO's etc.
Coordinates review of IDC documents/drawings & ensure its correctness
Ensures the preparation of the final as-built drawings based on Site mark¬ups prepared by PMT / Construction Team.
Reviews of engineering queries and their responses
Responsible in preparing Electrical construction drawings, shop drawings and as-built drawings.
Ensures that all activities are performed within the provisions of the Integrated Management System requirements
Responsible in preparing MTO’s, BOQ’s, etc. as required by the Head
Performs activities delegated to him by MEP Head
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Knowledge of Electrical design and engineering techniques, preparation of MTO’s, BOQ’s, and Estimations. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PDMS, Microsoft Office. Experienced and Knowledge in Marine requirements and Classifications is an added advantage.
10 - 12 years of experience of which 4 to 5 years off -shore experience with advance knowledge in electrical design engineering, obtainable usually through a combination of experience and continuing education
