Learning support assistants

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our ”outstanding” Achievement Centre at Jumeirah Primary School from September 2019. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work on a one to one basis with a child requiring additional learning support. As a fully inclusive school we pride ourselves in ensuring that we give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential.

This role will be challenging but also fun and very rewarding. You will work closely with the Head of Inclusion, Class Teacher and Head of Year to ensure the child receives the very best education we can provide. 

Overall role and requirements:

• Supervise and facilitate individual support for a named child, with particular reference to IEP targets, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with the named child to support their learning, promoting self-confidence and independence.
• Encourage the named child to interact with others and engage in activities.
• Liaison between Head of Year, Class Teachers and Head of Inclusion.
• Work within a framework set by the assigned teacher to plan the LSAs role in lessons.
• Record achievement/progress of the named pupil as directed by Teacher/Head of Inclusion.
• Attend relevant meetings and CPD sessions.
• Willingness to be in the swimming pool if required.
• Previous experience in Special Education will be an advantage.
• Safeguarding and protection are of utmost importance, a Dubai Police Good Conduct Certificate is a mandatory requirement. Along with references.
• MUST be on Spouse/Family sponsorship.
• MUST provide attested education certificates.

About Your Benefits

This position is Full Time, working Sunday to Thursday

Hours of work are 7:20am to 2:30pm (Sunday to Wednesday) and 7:20am to 1:30pm (Thursday)

Working term time only, receiving all School and Government approved holidays.
