JOB PURPOSE
During the shift period ensure that the “delivered as promised” business objective is being realized within given operational, financial and regulatory constraints by managing the Cargo Operations Control Centre in Dubai overseeing, controlling and managing the functions that facilitate the origin-to-destination shipment cycle. With a focus on proactive disruption management oversee and coordinate activities network-wide with the objective to ensure that internal/external departments/functions are sufficiently coordinated to ensure that shipments are “delivered as promised” and where there are disruptions these are identified early and mitigated. Shift pattern for the jobholder will be - work 2 day, 2 night, 4 off – shift time 06:00-18:00  and 18:00-06:00.   Job Responsibilities Leadership - Act as the highest ranking real-time decision maker for cargo operations networkwide relating to service delivery, resource management or regulatory issues.  - In case of service disruption lead/coordinate the required cargo operation efforts for the location(s) required be it within own offices, GHAs, truckers etc. including but not limited to delays, misconnections and re-routings.  - Lead and guide Cargo Managers when approached for any potential operational setback and ensure that teams are guided through. - Oversee that both Hubs and network are aligned and operating as per set procedures and processes and report non-compliance if observed. - Ensure to set processes and procedures for cargo operations control centre and all team members including reporting departments such as Cargo NCC and Tracing & Authorizations are well versed for effective compliance. Quality - Oversee and monitor the overall cargo service shortfall (SFR, cargo discrepancies) trends for all cargo types and engage erring stations/hub departments in actions for better compliance. - Contribute to overall cargo service improvement and cost optimization by identifying process weaknesses, operational flaws, and participate in project work improving both process and the quality of work done anywhere in the network and interfaces with the Hub. - Cargo iQ i) Alert both Hubs and network stations if Cargo iQ targets are not achieved and guide/coach for necessary improvements. ii) Assist in developing airfreight quality policies, processes and standards. iii) Assist senior management to establish performance targets and ensure agreed targets are achieved. iv) Ensure implementation of airfreight quality policies, processes and standards. v) Initiate, lead and manage discrepancy analysis and improvements in line with Cargo iQ requirements. vi) Ensure the organization remains updated with Cargo iQ requirements. vii) Ensure organizational and supplier awareness of applicable Cargo iQ and customer requirements. Safety & Security - Ensure reporting and initiate fact-finding in case of safety related incidents. - In case of emergencies provide coordination as required, with lead responsibility for cargo operations contribution to development of emergency procedures.  
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•            Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent). Degree from an internationally recognized university, preferably specializing in Business Management or Supply Chain Management.   Experience •            Logistics/Cargo - 10+ Years. •            Experience in a Logistics/Air Cargo Industry, of which a minimum of 6 years should have been in a managerial role, managing a large operational hub.                           Knowledge/Skills •            Should have completed advanced cargo courses related to the Air Cargo Industry. •            Completed courses in management and team development in addition to cargo and mail handling. •            Proficiency in cargo systems. •            Practical experience of airline ground operations and cargo acceptance/documentation procedures. •            Proven abilities to manage and motivate teams to achieve targets and quality standards. •            Proven ability to communicate effectively. •            Have flexible attitude to overcome deviations of planned operations without compromising policies and procedures and productivity standards.
